Review: I am in no way familiar with the original Charles Bronson film The Mechanic from 1972, but that may have actually been a benefit with a film like this. This remake does seem to be targeted toward my demographic though. The Mechanic caters to those who enjoy hard hitting action films with a lot of blood that spews more vulgarities than you care to keep track of with a fair chance of nudity along the way. Truth be told, if done right those types of films can be massively entertaining and The Mechanic definitely falls into the done right category.

Jason Statham really seems to be hit or miss when it comes to how entertaining his films are and lately his work just has not been all that satisfying. Review: This is an amazingly well put together movie. The screenplay is totally understandable. One of the best films about the process of going in to the Iraq War and the use of information at the time. I was superficially familiar with the Plames story but did not realize how vital her and her husbands work was in relation to the Iraq war.

Naomi Watts does a very good job. She does not overact but you can see her vulnerability and passion. She blends into the role so well that unlike Nicole Kidman so you don't think of a movie star acting but you focus on the story. Virginia Madsen looks more like Valerie Plame but unfortunately is now too old. Sean Penn is a bit too unattractive for the role but his acting ability makes up for it.

The production is top notch with an authentic on location feel to it.

Review: Morning Glory is about an ambitious small town producer, named Becky Fuller, of a slightly corny morning show. She moves up to a major networks failing morning program that needs serious help. The choice of bringing in Harrison Fords character was a brilliant and cunning move. The chemistry between Diane Keaton an Harrison Ford is worth seeing this film for. They are the comic relief which get the biggest laughs.

Jeff Goldblum provided a good mix to the cast and helped give the film a more dynamic impact. His supporting role was not a major character but his performance was enjoyable and provided a good character to move the plot along.

There are some less than perfect aspects about the script. The main character Becky is a little too caffeinated. This is explained in the character development but could have been tweaked to a more believable character. Some of the plot mechanism

Review: Despite what some may say, Love and Other Drugs was not like other romantic comedies I have seen except in the most general of senses, in that it was a romantic comedy. I had not seen one set in the environment of pharmaceutical sales or with a main character who had Parkinsons disease, a setting which is very interesting as there are a lot of things wrong with health care and the system today. It gives one something to chew on while watching the rest of the movie.

There is a lot to like about the relationship between Jamie and Maggie. They have a raw intensity and passion for each other that was a bit much for some viewers, but in my opinion it was there to show how connected they were both physically and mentally. Review: Ever since I heard about The Green Hornet, I expected a bad movie. It did not seem like it would work and boy was I wrong. I saw a screening of this recently, and walked in with zero expectations, and walked out having laughed throughout the movie and REALLY enjoyed the action and chemistry between Rogen and Jay Chou. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg did a fantastic job crafting this script, which could have been truly horrible, into a fun ride.

The true star of the movie is Jay Chou, aka Kato. His accent was sometimes hard to interpret, but he was surprisingly funny, and Kato-vision, time slows when his heart starts pumping during fights, turned out pretty cool in 3D.
